BSA TROOP 116
BSA Uniform
The Boy Scouts of America programs have always included uniforms for its members and volunteers to identify themselves and show they are part of the program. All Scouts in the program wear the same uniform with the major differences being the badges each Scout has earned, the unit numbers, and the Troop-specific Troop 116 provides the troop neckerchief and unit numbers.neckerchief. Scouts and leaders should wear their uniforms to all patrol meetings, Troop meetings, and Scout outings.

The official uniform is commonly referred to as the 'Class A' uniform. It has evolved over time, but has always been a well-known symbol of American Scouting. The more versatile and durable BSA Centennial Uniform became standard in August, 2008. See BSAUniforms.org for details.

Placement of insignia on the uniform is important. The Uniform Inspection Sheet has more specific insignia placement guides. Here are helpful layout images for uniform insignia on the sleeves and pockets.

Troop 116 also has an activity uniform, referred to as 'Class B' which is a T-shirt customized just for the Troop. Activity uniforms are worn during summer meetings, for work projects, sporting activities, and other events in which the dress uniform might get damaged.

Uniforms can be purchased at the Miami Valley Council Scout Shop. Troop 116 recommends the short sleeve tan shirt and pants with zip off legs. The troop has a limited inventory of used Scout uniforms that members are welcome to use, and hopefully return for others.
